Why Work at Ross Video? We have a great group of people working together to create and deliver cutting edge products that look amazing and are easy to use. We go all out so that our customers can have the best possible experience and achieve quality results. With a product focus, continual learning, results driven processes, and creative thinking, we constantly strive to improve our solutions and to deliver results. If you've ever watched live television, news, sports, or entertainment, you've seen our products in use. All of the major Hollywood award shows, most professional sports teams, and many of the largest broadcasters in the world use Ross Video technology. Get behind the scenes and learn about what it takes to make live events possible. If that resonates, and you’re someone with integrity, commitment, and a strong drive to deliver great products, we’d love to hear from you.

Be part of a cross-functional team that is designing, developing and testing distributed, scalable and highly available applications, tools and services that tie together live video production technology across multiple locations. We are building software that will revolutionize the industry by leveraging a move to distributed architecture and cloud-based infrastructure. As part of this, we are seeking a Product Verification Specialist to drive product quality and ensure all software components provide a reliable, user-friendly and performant experience for our customers. The successful candidate will be obsessed with quality improvement and automated tests for regression and new features.

Who you report to: Software Manager, RPM

What we offer:
Ross offers competitive salaries and comprehensive health plans, as well as several perks to help you perform at your best.
Some of these perks include flexible hours, generous paid time off, fitness/wellness allowance, employee share ownership program, professional development support and a ton of fun social activities and events!
Best of all, you will be part of the Ross Video team, and we’ve got a pretty energizing environment here.

What the job is all about:
  • Develop a comprehensive test plan and test cases based on new product features, customer requirements or identified problems
  • Identify test scenarios that are critical and repetitive and automate them
  • Report bugs with quality descriptions and work closely with the development team to see through and verify fixes
  • Develop integration tests in collaboration with other product teams to ensure interoperability and a smooth end-to-end workflow for end-users
  • Support ongoing software development efforts which means participating in Agile based SDLC – requirements gathering, scoping, design, implementation, documentation, testing and maintenance
Who you are:
  • Good understanding of testing at scale, performance and software reliability
  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of one or more test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, Robot Framework, JMeter and Cucumber
  • Desire and ability to reach out to other teams, visit customers and learn how software is used in a live video production environment
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team setting with an open, collaborative communication style
  • Ability to function in both Windows, Linux and MacOS environments
  • Preferred qualifications (the following skills are not required but would be considered assets):
  • Experience with live video production technology – if you have directed a live event, worked with a production switcher, operated a television camera or been in broadcast IT - consider it a bonus (but it is not a requirement for this role)
  • Experience automating test cases (API level testing and user-level automation)
  • Experience developing automated tests in a distributed environment
  • Experience in functional testing
  • Experience utilizing tools and scripts to test and optimize performance
  • Experience with Docker and VMWare
  • Intermediate Experience in Linux is an asset
  • Experience with Git is an asset
  • Ability and desire to travel – not a requirement for this role but the opportunity may present itself if you enjoy interacting with and learning from your end-users as a product expert
